Singer Songwriter / Performer

Performing guitar, vocals and harmonica, Phil plays an extensive range of popular easy-listening acoustic music. Selecting covers, originals and classical guitar pieces suitable to the audience, venue and setting.

Covers range from the 60′s to recent radio releases of today, with over 125 songs to choose from on his repertoire list. Some of his favourite songs to play are by The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Lenoard Cohen, Tom Petty, The Doors, Foo Fighters, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Radiohead.

When appropriate, Phil enjoys performing and adding classical guitar music to his sets. Including pieces by the great composers Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and classical guitarists Ferdinando Carulli, Matteo Carcassi and Mauro Giuliani. With 20 classical guitar pieces to choose from.

Phil began playing the guitar at age 13 and took music classes all throughout highschool. Also playing guitar and singing in bands, writing original songs and composing pieces of music on the piano. Completing Grade 6 Music Theory with the Royal School of Music by the end of highschool. He then studied 2 years at The Nelson School of Music Contemporary Performance Course in New Zealand. Since then, he has been writing, recording and performing live on a regular basis. For the past 5 years, performing weekly with residencies as a solo artist in restaurants and bars, in Wellington New Zealand. Phil is now living in Nelson.
